Test & Results

Test Results can be obtained by telephoning or calling into the surgery from 10:00am.
Please note that the practice has a strict policy regarding confidentiality and data protection and we will only release test results to the person to whom they relate unless that person has given prior permission for the release of this data or they are not capable of understanding the results.

When you take your test you will be told how long it will be before the results are returned to the practice. Most test results are available 5 days after the test was taken

It is your responsibility to check your results and to make an appointment to discuss them with your doctor if you are advised to do so. You may be offered a telephone consultation to discuss your results

The receptionist may ask you to read health information leaflets following your blood test. The receptionist will give you clear instructions and may text you a link to the health information so you can find it easily

Health Information following blood tests

Usually within 3-5 days of a patient's blood test, the blood test results are returned electronically to the practice. A doctor will review all the blood tests. Sometimes a doctor will use an assessment method to calculate a risk score, which measures a patient's risk of developing cardiovascular disease. If the risk score is high, the doctor will make a clinical decision and suggest that the patient starts taking medication. The doctor will add a note to your prescription that the pharmacist will print on the box of tablets you need to take. Please click on High Cholesterol link below.  If you would like to discuss this further, please call and ask for a telephone appointment with Sarah.
